What is live-in care?

“Live-in care” means that a carer lives in the home with the person who needs care. The live-in carer provides care in the home on a 24-hour basis, leaving only for breaks.

Personalised support is at its best with live-in care. This care option allows the freedom to continue living life as desired, engaging in hobbies and activities that bring joy and fulfilment. Even more important to many is the establishment of a routine of care that can safeguard against the common pitfalls that often occur when in-home services are lacking in trust, reliability, or attention to detail.

This service differs mainly in the way it provides care. With it, a Live-in carer takes up residence in your home. They are there around the clock to make sure you get the care and support you need to maintain your independence. This service is the way to go if you want to stay home for as long as possible.

In collaboration with you, we will create a care plan that is specifically designed to meet your unique needs. If, for instance, you require active support when our part-time carers are taking a break or during the overnight hours, a different carer will be there to ensure you receive the top-notch care you deserve.

“Being at Home is totally acceptable to me. I keep my house organised and can find most everything quickly. I feel secure in the company of my pets, and because I’m somewhat reclusive and don’t mind spending days alone, I’m just about as content as it’s possible to be”

At its essence, Live-in Care allows individuals to remain in their beloved homes. For anybody, this is an immense comfort. Life can continue almost as before while they are there, and it can give the family members who provide the necessary part of that presence a profound comfort too. The fact that the presence can be part of an equal and ongoing relationship permits both parties to build what feels very much like a home, just as it should be, moment by moment, day after day, while never taking any aspect of the continuity for granted.
